Prevelle Silk

What Is Prevelle Silk?

Very similar to injectable fillers like Restylane and Juvederm, Prevelle Silk is comprised of hyaluronic acid. Much like the hyaluronic acid in our skin, the solution adds volume where it has been lost. When our skin loses volume, the effects are lines and wrinkles that make the skin look aged and dehydrated. Manufactured by Mentor Corp., Prevelle Silk is ideal for filling lost volumes, lines that denser fillers such as Perlane and Juvederm Ultra Plus can’t fill.

What is expected from the Prevelle Silk treatment?

Prior to starting your Prevelle Silk treatment, your nurse will clean the treatment area of your skin with antispectic.  This procedure typically lasts up to half an hour, for most patients.  Because the Prevelle Silk treatment, as the solution contains lidocaine, no topical anesthetics will be necessary.  Once the treatment area of the skin has been cleaned, your licensed Chicago Plastic Surgeon will delicately inject the Prevelle Silk solution.  Usually, after the solution has been injected to the treated area, the Chicago Plastic Surgeon will lightly massage the treated area to ensure proper placement of the Prevelle Silk.

Prevelle Silk Post Treatment and Results

After receiving your Prevelle Silk injection, some patients have noticed that the treated area feels full.  They have also expressed some swelling, but these effects typically are very minimal and short lived.  Most patients are able to return to their usual routine shortly after treatment.  Of course, it is always wise to stay away from alcohol, strenuous exercise, and sun exposure for a few hours after treatment.

You will notice results from your Prevelle Silk injection for up to three months.  At this time, you may want to contact he Women’s Institute Cosmetic & Laser Surgery for another appointment.
