Candidate For Botox
If you have creases on the forehead, lines around the eyes, frown lines between the eyes or vertical line around the mouth, you are a candidate for Botox!
What is Botox?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is very often the first cosmetic procedure people try and has become the leading nonsurgical cosmetic procedure in patient satisfaction. It is an injection treatment that prevents and corrects minor wrinkles. It is a very simple process that is done on an outpatient basis at the Women’s Institute. The injections are the most popular non-surgical treatment performed in the US. The injection, which uses a very tiny needle in order to pinpoint very specific areas, temporarily “freezes” the muscle so that it does not wrinkle.
Botox is actually the common brand name of Botulinum Toxin type A, an established treatment to eliminate or reduce wrinkles on the face. Botox is most commonly used to treat forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eyes) and frown lines. Though Botox is a form of toxin, the very small amounts used for treating patients are safe and ideal for relaxing muscles that contract and form wrinkles on your face. Botox has been used safely for over ten years to treat numerous medical conditions, approved in the US for cosmetic use in 2002.
How is Botox Performed?
The procedure may be performed in an office-based facility, an outpatient surgery center, or a hospital.
The physician or RN will use a fine needle to inject it in the desired location(s) on the face.
No anesthesia is required and the patient is typically able to return to regular daily activities immediately.
After The Treatment
Patients will see results within a few days following treatment. These results generally last four to six months, at which point you may need to return for additional injections, if you would like longer-lasting results.
